The Initial Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Remains Committed.

Everywhere you go, commentators persist in tolling the funeral bells for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering regarding Sony's platform as a new development. Last year proved to be a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it becomes clear that the green gaming company continues to plan to engage players with strong games on its key platform.

The Available Now Titles

The two games you can play right now as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass soon that's worth getting excited about.

Upcoming Headline Games

On Jan. 13, the platform will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that refreshes typical Ubisoft design with a space-faring criminal escapade. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "the perfect cocktail of horror and action."

Intriguing Niche Additions

Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, becomes available next week — and you should try it regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year may draw you in within just a quarter of an hour.

Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the makers of Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Well-Rounded Collection

All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that justify the service in the first place. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. It offers a healthy blend of old games you might have missed and new-ish games that failed to receive the spotlight they were due initially — transforming them into ideal prospects to get a second chance on Game Pass.

Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
