Substantial Online Failure Impacts Many Sites and Mobile Apps
A widespread internet failure has disrupted numerous sites and applications around the world, as users experiencing issues connecting to the web due to difficulties at Amazon’s web hosting system.
The impacted platforms encompass the social media app Snapchat, Roblox, the messaging service Signal, and Duolingo, as well as a host of Amazon-owned operations such as its primary shopping site and the Ring device manufacturer.
Throughout Britain, the financial institution Lloyds was disrupted in addition to its affiliates Halifax and Bank of Scotland, and also reports of problems accessing the HM Revenue and Customs website on the start of the week. Additionally in Britain, several Ring users used social media to report their security devices were not working.
