Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global break, but can the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, fans and a range of guests.

For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday football team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's only away win this season came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still that team's coach.

So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.

My son advised me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have got lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's home form, the only team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

It is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
