Paramount Skydance Plans to Remove Around 2,000 American Positions – Update

Skydance Paramount will initiate significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, cutting about 2,000 positions in the United States within a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn under top executive David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed during August worth $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are anticipated, with the company aiming to disclose all specifics via its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.

Earlier reports suggested the firm planned to reduce from 2,000 and 3,000 jobs before the start of November.

As of December 2024, the company had almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization has not yet commented on the matter.
