Former Doctor Accused of Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a ex- physician has been charged with committing sexual assaults against 38 individuals who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
